It's Day 10 in the Sim Brother house. Yesterday saw the housemates divided into two teams and were given a new three part task. Mia's Maulers and Harry's Royal Hotspurs (HRH for short) had to compete in a test of knowledge about the World Cup 2006, a test of memory about pennants that Sim Brother had placed around the grounds and a Kickybag competition. Although Britney had gone, Jack entered the house to balance their numbers but had already managed to ruffle Snoop's feathers and offended Gordon.
8.28am - Mia and Harry are the first housemates up. As team captains, they have to compete in all of the tasks and face another member of the opposing team. They are reading up on the subject but the subject of conversation is not football.
Harry - What do you think about Jack?
Mia - I haven't had much to do with him. He's on your team.
Harry - We've got the first match this afternoon. I have my doubts. Who am I facing off against?
Mia - You've got Trisha.
10.30pm - During the night, Sim Brother has put up a large mural of the statistics from the World Cup 2006 competition [thankyou, Wikipedia] on the wall of what has now been designated as the Matchroom. The mural contains listings and all details necessary for housemates to get through the first part of the competition.
1.50pm - All of the housemates are up and dressed appropriately. Snoop and Johnny have been wandering around the house and gardens for the past hour checking pennants and trying to memorise them.
Sim Brother (JEJ) - This ... is Sim Brother. Harry & Jack, Mia & Trisha, you will take your places on the Playing Field in the Matchroom. All team members not taking part will watch this part of the competition from the sidelines.
2.00pm - Mia & Trisha, Harry & Jack are in the Matchroom. Mia will be playing against Jack, Harry will be playing against Trisha.
Sim Brother (JEJ) - The Grand Randomiser has selected Harry and Trisha to play first. Harry will be answering the first question. Harry, in Group D, which two countries did not qualify to get into the second round?
Harry - Ermm ... Angola ... and Iran.
SB - That is correct. Trisha, in Group H, which two countries qualified to get into the second round?
Trisha - Oh gosh. Spain and the Ukraine?
SB - That is correct. Harry, Spain went on to play which country in the second round, where did they play and what was the final score?
Harry - They played France in Hanover where France won 3-0.
SB - That is correct. Trisha, the Ukraine went on to play which country in the second round, where did the play and what was the final score?
Trisha - I know this, I know this ... Cologne, they played Switzerland and the Ukraine won 3-0 from penalties.
SB - That is correct. Harry, in the Quarter Finals, France played which country, in which town, what was the final score but also what was the score at half time?
Harry - France played Brazil. They played in Frankfurt. France beat Brazil 3-0 and at half time the score was ... 1-0?
SB - That is incorrect. The halftime score was 2-0. Trisha, in the Quarter Finals, the Ukraine played which country, in which town, what was the final score and what was the score at half time?
Trisha - Oh my ... ermm ... Italy ... Hamburg ... 3-0 final score ...... 1-0 half time score?
SB - That is correct. Harry, you got 2 out of 3 questions right. Trisha, you got 3 out of 3 questions right. Mia's Maulers get 2 points.
2.38pm - Mia and Jack are now playing their match. Jack needs to win to level the score. Mia needs to win in order to get a decisive lead as they go into the second day. Both Mia and Jack have got their first two questions right.
SB - Mia, Portugal beat which country on penalties to get into the Semi Finals? What was the country, what was the score after full time, what was the score after extra time and what was the final score?
Mia - England, 0-0, 0,0, 3-1.
SB - That is correct. Jack, Germany beat which country on penalties to get into the Semi Finals? What was the country, what was the score after full time, what was the score after extra time and what was the final score?
Jack - Argentina, 0-0, 2-2, 3-2
SB - That is incorrect. The extra time score was 1-1 and the final score was 4-2. Mia's Maulers get 2 points. Mia's Maulers lead the competition 4 points to 0.
Jack - I dispute this. Those facts are incorrect.
SB - Is there a problem, Jack?
Jack - You guys are morons. You've got it wrong. I know I'm right.
SB - And Sim Brother knows that you are wrong.
Jack - When I get out of here, I'm going to sue you for humiliating me and making me look like an idiot.
SB - Making you look like a jackass, perhaps?
Jack - THAT's IT! I've got your name. You guys will be on street corners begging for dimes when I'm through with you.
SB - Housemates are now free to return to the house.
4.36pm - Jack is in the Diary Room. He has been in here for one hour and 45 minutes. Sim Brother has not replied to him, the door is locked and Jack's microphone appears not to be functioning. How sad. He does not look too pleased. Mia and Harry are in the lounge.
Harry - Well played, Mia.
Mia - Thankyou, Harry. It's a shame your fellow teammate is not as sporting as you are.
Harry - What can I say? He's a lawyer. He doesn't like to lose. We'll just have to do better tomorrow.
Well done to the real Gordon Ramsay who yesterday (Sunday) completed the 26 miles of the 2007 London Marathon in 4 hours, 20 minutes and 11 seconds.
